Castle Towers is supporting the 2015 Hills Winter Sleep Out to raise funds for four local organisations
The charities to benefit are:
- Hills Community Aid,
- Lisa Harnum Foundation.
The sleep out will take place on the grounds of the historic old Castle Hill School building on Old Northern Rd
The sleep-out will be held at the shopping centre’s heritage precinct on the corner of Showground and Old Northern roads on Saturday, August 22.
Last year’s sleep-out raised $40,000, which was divided between various organisations, including $2000 to Community Medic which runs a refuge and service and The Blue House in Parramatta.
On Friday, Simon Robinson picked up the cheque from Mayor Michelle Byrne and said it would go towards establishing a similar service in the Hills area.
Goal of 150 fundraisers sleeping rough
This year organisers hope to get more than 150 people involved. Castle Towers centre manager Martin Ollis said:
